Role Overview
We are seeking highly motivated Master's students or recent Master's graduates, with a strong interest in Systems Engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and complex aerospace/defense systems development. The intern will work closely with systems engineers on requirements engineering, system architecture development, MBSE modeling, verification planning, and technical documentation activities following INCOSE Systems Engineering principles.
This role is ideal for candidates looking to build practical experience in applying systems engineering methodologies to real-world engineering programs. A strong interest in UAV and autonomous systems, along with the ability to work effectively in an agile engineering development environment, is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Engineering Execution
- Support development and management of system requirements.
- Assist in requirements analysis, decomposition, allocation, and traceability.
- Participate in stakeholder needs analysis and operational concept development.
- Contribute to system architecture definition and interface management.
- Support preparation of technical reviews and engineering artifacts.
MBSE Activities
- Develop and maintain system models using Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw).
- Create SysML diagrams including:
- Requirement Diagrams
- Block Definition Diagrams (BDD)
- Internal Block Diagrams (IBD)
- State Machine Diagrams
- Assist in model validation and consistency checks.
- Support verification planning and requirements verification matrix creation.
- Prepare engineering reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
- Maintain configuration-controlled engineering artifacts.
- Support generation of architecture and design documentation from models.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Assist in test planning and analysis activities.
- Work with hardware, software, test, and program teams.
- Support customer / stakeholder technical interactions when required.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree (completed or pursuing) in:
- Aerospace Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Systems Engineering
- Or related discipline
- 0-1 years experience in Systems Engineering, Integration or related role.
Required Skills
- Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler / Capella.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of SysML.
- Basic systems thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Exposure to MBSE methodologies.
- Demonstrable aerospace, UAV, automotive, defense, or robotics project experience.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
